The
original structure located on the north side of the river was the first
Oregon lighthouse, however, it fell into the river in 1861 when it's sand
foundation eroded.
The "new" tower, built
in 1894, is 65' tall and sits at 165' elevation. This lighthouse is identical
to Heceta Head which was also illuminated in 1894.The museum
and lighthouse are maintained by:
